13/03/13 A couple of smart guys on the org are complaining because the swordfish is not XP10 compatible and are mocking around XP9.10+ compatibility tag.
For those cons-productive i...:(((:
First: Read the download menu section --> it is said XP9 which means X-Plane 9 compatibily only!!!
Second: I have no time to produce XP10 update for my packs right now. If you want XP10 compatibility then save the package in PM 10
before launching. Most of the original features will be then restored in XP10 back from XP 9 and the pack will certainly run properly.
13/02/24 New Swordfish X-Plane 9 film added in Media section and Youtube
13/02/16 Martin Baker Mk4 download is fixed. See Misc Download section.
13/02/09 Minor updates of the website
12/12/01 Long time no see. If you check the last log entry date you will notice that all projects are pending for a long time. This is due to personnal events (good and sad).
However I have reloaded the website with a fully new design. X-Plane conversion of 3D models is paused, however 3D production is still active
(with my own speed and avaibility).
I have also uploaded the swordfish package (6 aircrafts) for X-Plane 9 (see download section).
Be informed that I am not aware of latest X-Plane 10 developments, therefore all existing aircraft package are not upgraded and are not XP10 compatible.
In addition you will notice that some pages of the website are still under (re)-construction. Have fun...
09/07/01 Yak-37 Swordfish teaser movie and pics are now available in the Espadon SX section. Enjoy!!!
09/07/01 I hope you'll be back soon on track Erik, I wish you a good and quick convalescence my friend. Take care.

08/01/12 Martin baker Mk4 ejection 3d model package is now ready. It will be available for download soon.
Just the time for the team to update our mainwebsite and add safe shopping capabilities for visitors.
In the meantime check Mirage IIIC and Images subsections to see the final package of the Martin Baker ejection seat.
08/01/01 HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are going to release many stuff this year so stay tuned.
07/11/07 Screenshots of Mirage IIIC concept plane are available; check IMAGES XP8 section.
This is an hybrid acf+obj aircraft that mainly serves to tune aerodynamic in Plane Maker. Airframe is pure acf made and some parts are OBJs.
Thanks to this prototype aircraft we have a rough idea of the final look we will obtain with the 100% OBJ aircraft under production.
07/10/20 Website has been updated again with specific page for each project now. New and corrected information in the Mirage III section
07/09/07 Several updates of website layout, html code and texts. We have now also a tagboard to let you post messages.
07/09/01 Many stuff today:
- Mirror website has been re-arranged. New media and informations are available. Feel free to visit us and see our new projects and latest images.
- New screenshots of the VF-4 Lightning III fighter from Macross Flashback 2012 are available in the extra project section. Modelization is now
pretty well advanced. This is unexpected because the Lightning III 3d model was just a stuff for fun, but in 3 sessions of 3d work we have made
significant progress. Now we have an acceptable 3d model so it worths more attention and we can dream about a Macross jet flying accross X-plane
universe.
- Another important news is the next release of the Martin Baker Mk4 ejection seat. Textures and 3d are achieved with a high level of details.
Feel free to check the extra project or gallery section for more screens. Initialy the MB ejection seat is designed for the Mirage III, but considering
the utility for X-Plane modelers to have a ready to use 3d object I have decided to release it as a stand alone package including OBJ8 object and texture.
For this occasion Viggenxfiles will probably changes its policy. The MB ejection seat will probably be a payware.
This is unfortunate but we have to pay for server hosting, domain name, paypal service. Current donation rate and amount are to low to face all these fees.
In addition, a nice work (even if it's a hobby) deserves a reward. So if you want to make us change our mind and keep all this free, please make a donation!
The Viggen 3.xx will remain free as long as V4.xx is not released. Then payware will probably rules...
- Regarding, the Mirage III project, Erik is currently making miracle (as usual) to tune aerodynamic paramaters.
However we are still looking for accurate flight data. So, please if you can help us to collect information, it would be gladly appreciated.
You can contact us at contact@viggenxfiles.org. THANKS!
- Viggen V4.xx is still in the hangar. No real improvement since the last news except a new exhaust and reactor with redesigned burning animation.
Viggen SK37 twin seater is now fully textured with splinter colors. (More news soon)
- Gripen: Top fuselage modelization is now 100% finished, belly is under progress. All aspects of the aircraft modelization have been reworked.
We are about to show, probably the most detalled Gripen ever built for a flight simulator. Modelization of MDBA Euro missile Meteor and Iris-T is achieved.
All new screens are available in the extra project or in the gallery section.
07/08/25 New work in progress screenshots of the Gripen are available in the extra project section.
07/08/02 Now if you want to contact us you can mail us at our new address contact@viggenxfiles.org or use the previous address viggenxfiles@rixmail.se
07/07/29 To complete the re-release of X-Airframe plug-in for XP7 and early XP8 version, as another example, we offer the old 3d files of the Viggen produced in
may 2006 compatible with the X-Airframe plug-in for Xp7. D/L link and install instructions are given in the 3d&tech section.
Of course these files are now obsolete and have no connection with the present Viggen 3.xx for XP 8.xx available in the download section.
07/07/28 A new "bibliography" sub section has been added to the Tech&3D page. You'll find there a short list of books and reviews we have used to produce
the Viggen, but also the Mirage III, currently under progress.
The X-Airframe plug-in for XP7 users now also available for download in the Tech&3D page. Although this plug-in sounds outdated and obsolete with XP8,
it remains a good alternative to create advanced smooth shaded OBJ7 aircrafts for XP7 or even for XP8 if you are not used to OBJ8 creation.
07/07/22 2 new sub sections have been added to the extra projects section. Mirage III: Dedicated to the Mirage III project for X-Plane.
This new work is getting more and more precise and the 3d model is taking shape. Gripen section: Currently on hold but still alive anyway.
07/05/22 VERSION 3.2 IS AVAILABLE! The 3.2 update includes all changes applied in the version that is included in X-Plane 8.60 as a default.
That includes new sounds, better cockpit, and fine tuning in several areas.
07/04/13 Viggen Version 4 development has reached it's cruise speed.. This version will feature a completely new fin folding mechanism.
07/04/08 The next coming Viggen pack will include a pilot ladder, you'll be able to show-hide at any time by pressing a button on the panel.
Click on screenshot below to see example.
07/04/06 Due to some messy problem with our server some visitors encountered matters to download files properly. Now free access to version 3.1 is restored.
You can download again all packs in the download section or you can possibly link to main website. Have fun.
07/04/01 New screenshots of the JA37Di are now available in the "What's next" section.
07/03/18 What about the JAS39 Gripen? The team is seriously thinking about producing the famous 4th generation Saab aircraft for X-Plane 8.
Sketch 3d model is currently under development and a acf file is already operational. Screenshots are available in the "What's next" section.
07/03/17 After 3 months of silence we are now about to propose several upgrades for the Viggen. The following list defines the leading axis of development.
However due to personal job duty and overload we are not yet ready to confirm a release date, but we are doing our best to make it ASAP.
1- First release will be version 3.2 (we have definitely abandoned the beta naming convention since Austin Meyer has decided to include our
Viggen package as a default in X-Plane 8 package).
In the continuation of version 3.1, 3.2 update will be a object loader polish which can produce a better look on some systems, and allow the mode
to be loaded into x-plane with no error report. In addition 3.2 will introduce a new 2d panel with refitted instrumentation system. 3.2 upgrade will be
freeware for all packages.
2- Second is the JA37Di variant to complete our family with the most sophisticated Viggen ever produced in Sweden.
Photo realistic textures will be used and the final aircraft undercarriage will include U95 jamming pod and countermeasure dispenser.
Screenshots of work in progress are already available in the "What's next"section. The Di will probably be our first payware package...sorry
for that but we have no choice now. We will charge a very low price, just enough, at least to recoup our basic costs such as server and domain
name.
3- Third SK37 will come just after (payware as well). The 3d model does exist already in our stockpile but
aerodynamic is still under trial
4- And finally but not the least, we will release for all Viggen's variant a new dynamic 3d cockpit. More information will be uncovered soon, so stay tuned.
07/02/15 About donations vs. payware. The donation frequency is not too high to say the least, and therefore we are considering the fact that we have to
go payware. There will be free versions still, but the latest and more complicated models we might have to charge you for.
This is most unfortunate, but we do have costs to cover, and work alot with this. Sorry for this not so good news.
07/01/05 Laminar research with Austin Meyer as creator and lead designer, has decided to give our new Viggen a oppurtunity to be implemented with
the original x-plane game. It will then be implemented in an update beginning from 8.60+. We are so proud over this!
Exact model to be included is not yet decided but i think it will be the dusty JA37 from F17 (on the start page). It will then not be achievable from here,
but updates to it will be released in applicable parts.
07/01/02 Back from holidays. We are now going to work on final Viggen pack for X-Plane 8. Go to "what's next" section to check our program.
06/12/18 Mirror site will have a new name domain soon: Viggenxfiles.org
